All Men Must Wait for ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7

0

As always, the wait for a new season of Game of Thrones is agonizingly long. This year it has been excruciating due to the added 3, yes read them 3 months of waiting. Given that we are given an episode a week by now we would be deep into our season approaching the end had we started the beginning of April as we have so grown accustom to doing. However, we are not there yet and we must be patient. But patience will only breed questions. Questions we can only hope will be answered in season 7.

Game of Thrones

Season 7 left many chamber doors open, full of perhaps treasures, bodies or scandal. Of course only time will tell what great things we will find in Westeros and it’s fellow mythical lands. Of course, to speculate is to accumulate and that is exactly what I will do. So here are 7 things I speculate we might be able to expect from our favourite non family friendly show:

Game of Thrones

Family Reunion – Well one that is feasible at least. Of course we would have all loved a total Stark reunion, but by now the family has suffered many losses and such a reunion is impossible without some kind of seance. Which let’s face it, is more something for the Red Woman. Besides I do think, we have learnt the hard way that we cannot get a fairy tale ending here. Nevertheless, I do feel we can expect either Arya or Bran (wishes secretly for both) to be joining Sansa and Jon.

Game of Thrones

Family Feud – Of course, the last season saw Jaime witness Cersei’s coronation and with that we seemed to see a glimmer of hope that he has seen through his lust for his dear sister. Perhaps he has seen a hint of the madness that appears in his lineage. Is Cersei to be known as the Mad-Queen, will Jaime be forced to repeat history? Of course little brother Tyrion has a bone or two to pick with Cersei. Perhaps the brothers could be uniting against the sister who has fought so hard to keep their brotherly bond severed.

Game of Thrones

Family Secrets – Now that we have finally address R+L=J in the show, how will this transpire between the 2 heirs to the families? Jon Snow and Daenerys keeper of many names could soon be face to face. Will it be a clash of clans or an avenging alliance formed. I think we all know to complete the formula of ice and fire, the latter is more likely. But to watch it unfold could prove a bumpy road as both hold a good claim to the throne.

Game of Thrones

Family Resurrected – Catelyn Stark is long gone from the show and probably most people’s minds. However the books depicted her comeback as lady stoneheart. A reanimated version of the Stark’s first lady, hell bent on vengeance for her family. Of course, as the show has not touched upon this, it is unlikely. However we can dream can’t we?!

Family Saviour – Of course the last season gave us the return of Benjen Stark. A member we only met too briefly before his disappearance but were never allowed to forget about. He revealed us many new things regarding the wall and it’s spells that protect it. However we know that magic cannot contain forever and the wall must fall sometime and with it letting in the Night’s King and it’s wights.

Family Forgotten – Gendry left our screens a while back, but he is still a strong contender for the throne. Being King Robert Baratheon’s only true born heir still alive to our knowledge. Will the unlikely hero make a return? If only for a glimpse of the bastard that we have not seen since season 3. Season 3 I tell you!

Game of Thrones

Family Adoption – Samwell Tarly has not had a lot to do on our screens since that bad-ass scene where he essentially tells his father to go fornicate himself and steals the family sword. Surely he is due an epic moment more worthy of our screen time than exploring an old library and playing adoptive daddy to Gilly’s incest baby. There is a reason Jon let him go, it is because as always he will be the upraised hero to aid Jon and rescue the masses. As the beautiful White Walker Killing Machine he is!

*Waits for what seems an eternity to find out if any of this even happens*
