Here is the full-length trailer for the highly anticipated Death Note based on the popular Japanese Manga. The film tells the story of a high school student played by Nat Wolff who finds a supernatural notebook that has the power to kill anybody who has their name written in it. We at the GeekDevil offices are soooo looking forward to this. Willem Dafoe’s performance looks very terrifying but it is going to be legendary. We know it’s not going to be a straight adaptation of the original Manga and will be different with American characters and set in Seattle, but going by this trailer and this featurette (below) it looks very promising.
The film is directed by Adam Wingard (You’re Next) with a script by Charley & Vlas Parlapanides (Immortals) and Jeremy Slater (TV’s The Exorcist). Fun fact Adam Wingard is going to be directing the big monterverse showdown Godzilla vs. Kong for a 22nd May 2020 release.
Death Note will be released on Netflix on 25th August 2017.
