‘Fast & Furious 8’ – Official Trailer

Here is the new trailer for ‘Fast & Furious 8‘ aka ‘The Fate of the Furious‘ and no surprise that this trailer is action packed. I was wondering where they would go with this franchise and how they would continue the story, well that answer is explained in this trailer. With a new villain played by the awesome Charlize Theron the team faces the ultimate threat….one of their own. This time Dominic Toretto has gone rogue! Going by this trailer and the newly released poster Dom will betray the family. Now I am not sure on this direction of this but hopefully they will explain on why Dom turns his back on his family. It seems to be the new thing with the good guys going bad and how this trailer mirrors the new Transformers: The Last Knight trailer and how Optimus Prime turns on the Autobots. But getting back to this trailer it’s great to see Dwayne Johnson get a bigger role than he did in the previous film. I like the look of the prison breakout scene and the possible rematch between him and Jason Statham. Speaking of Statham hopefully there is a very good explanation and reason on why he joins the team he was dead set on destroying.  Well they are definitely mixing it up with this one with an ever expanding cast now including Kurt Russell, Scott Eastwood and  Helen Mirren – we only have till next April to find out the reason behind Dom’s actions.

Here’s the official synopsis for Fast & Furious 8:

Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life.  But when a mysterious woman (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.

From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage…and to bring home the man who made them a family.

For The Fate of the Furious, Vin Diesel is joined by a returning all-star cast that includes Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky and Kurt Russell.  In addition to Theron, the series welcomes newcomers Scott Eastwood and Oscar® winner Helen Mirren.  The film is directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) and produced by returning producers Neal H. Moritz, Michael Fottrell and Diesel.

Fast & Furious 8 will be released 14th April 2017
