Warner Bros. and DC Comics have a lot riding on the up and coming DCEU movies. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice wasn’t well received and Suicide Squad was slammed by critics and fans, even if it did win a Oscar for “Best Makeup and Hairstyling”. On a personal note I loved Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.
So everything now is riding on Wonder Woman and Justice League to perform very well. We saw a bit of teaser trailer last summer for Justice League and it looked like Warner Bros. / Zack Snyder had taken on the feedback of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and lighten up the mood and taken on the Marvel method of more fun and jokes and overall more upbeat..
Now Warner Bros. has released the first Justice League trailer, which you can see above. It looks OK but dare I say I think I have a few issues with it. I’m really not sure about some of the CGI especially with Cyborg but it might just be me. It’s great to finally see J.K. Simmons as Commissioner James Gordon but I will miss him screaming for more pictures of Spider-Man. With this trailer we can see a lot more of humour in the film. This is especially noticeable in the scenes with Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman and Bruce Wayne’s “I’m rich” response to Barry Allen. But let’s just hope Bruce doesn’t “flash” his Batman MasterCard – “Remember don’t leave your cave without it!”
I do have some hope that this movie will be entertaining – I just don’t want the humour / jokes and lighter mood to be too forced. I thought that Ben Affleck’s Batman was very strongest part in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and it’s great to see more of the Batmobile shooting stuff up in this trailer. I think that Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman and Ezra Miller’s Flash are going to steal the show with their characters and it’s great to see them throwing themselves into these roles.
Well its going to be all or nothing for Justice League and we at GeekDevil want to see this movie do well so that everything gets turned around this year for the DCEU so that we will get to see more of the DC characters make the jump to the silver screen.

Here’s the official synopsis for Justice League:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
