I’m absolutely loving this new Spider-Man and Sony and Marvel have just dropped the second trailer -see above. We were introduced to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, in Captain America: Civil War and now we get to see his adventures in his own movie and it looks great. With Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark as his mentor and tech dealer we get to see a very cool Spider-Man with a fantastic costume with lots of Spidey-Tech. There is a lot given away about the story by this trailer but I don’t have a issue with that. I love the chemistry between Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr. and I think they bounce off of each other well. The trailer shows that Spidey will be going up against a new menace that threatens New York in the form of Michael Keaton’s Adrian Toomes, a.k.a. the Vulture and it maybe too much for Peter. Can Peter prove himself to be a hero to Tony and the city can he earn his place as a Avenger…..we will find out when on the 7th July when Spider-Man: Homecoming is released.
Here’s the official synopsis:
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
