Star Trek: Discovery is an upcoming television series, scheduled to be released in 2017. It is the sixth live-action series set in the Star Trek universe and the seventh in total. It will be produced by CBS Television Studios and Secret Hideout; the executive producers are Bryan Fuller, Alex Kurtzman, and Heather Kadin. It is set to premiere with a “special preview broadcast” on CBS in the US, with that pilot and all subsequent first-run episodes to then be streamed weekly in the United States on CBS All Access. It will be streamed on Netflix in the UK and another 188 countries.
Star Trek: Discovery also stars Jason Isaacs, Mary Wiseman, Terry Serpico, Maulik Pancholy, Sam Vartholomeos, James Frain, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Chris Obi, Mary Chieffo, and Rainn Wilson.

Set roughly ten years before the events of the original Star Trek, the series follows the crew of the USS Discovery as they discover new worlds and civilizations, while exploring the franchise’s signature contemporary themes. The season-long storyline revolves around “an incident and an event in Star Trek history that’s been talked about but never been explored”

Shazad Latif (Penny Dreadful) will now star as Lieutenant Tyler, a Starfleet officer in the Federation.
Rekha Sharma (Battlestar Galactica, The 100) will star as Commander Landry, the security officer of the Starship Discovery.
Kenneth Mitchell (Jericho, Astronaut Wives Club, Frequency) will star as Kol, a commanding officer in the Klingon Empire.
Clare McConnell (Dim the Fluorescents) will star as Dennas, a leader in the Klingon Empire.
Damon Runyan (Suits, Supernatural, Gangland Undercover) will star as Ujilli, a leader in the Klingon Empire.
