It’s now 2017 and one of the movies I am really looking forward to is ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ released in November. Taika Waititi directs this sequel, which finds Chris Hemsworth’s Thor teaming up with Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk.
Marvel have released the first image from the film and the official synopsis. See below.
Going by the the synopsis below we are going to see elements from “Planet Hulk” which was a storyline that ran through issues of The Incredible Hulk in 2006 and was later a animated movie released on DVD and Blu-ray in 2010 where Hulk ends up fighting in gladiatorial matches in outer space. I’m incredibly excited for this even though it is a Thor sequel I can’t wait to see Hulk with his Gladiator armor.
Here is the Official Synopsis for ‘Thor: Ragnarok’
In Marvel Studios’ ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk!
As well as the ‘Planet Hulk’ elements we also get a fantastic cast. Cate Blanchett will play the role of the villainous Hela. And Tom Hiddleston will return as Loki for the first time since Thor: The Dark World. We’ll also be getting to see the legendary Jeff Goldblum as The Grandmaster, a cosmic being and one of the Elders of the Universe. And there’s Karl Urban as the villainous Skurge, an Asgardian warrior who is Hela’s henchman. Last but not least, there’s Tessa Thompson as the Asgardian warrior Valkyrie.
With all these elements combined it will be no surprise that Thor: Ragnarok outshines Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming as the biggest Marvel movie of 2017.
