Trailer for Takashi Miike’s ‘Blade of the Immortal’

The trailer for veteran director’s 100th film, Blade of the Immortal, based on the manga series by Hiroaki Samura, is a graphicly violent, fantasy-swordplay film about a samurai, Manji (Takuya Kimura), who is saved by a witch after bloody battle by healing his wounds and severed limbs by feeding him bloodworms.

When crossing paths with Rin Asano (Hana Sugisaki), a girl who’s parents were killed by a group of master swordsmen, Manji finds redemption and promises to avenge their deaths.

Blade of the Immortal will be screening at this year’s London Film Festival and should please fans of the genre with its well crafted and gruesome sword-fights.
